Huskies beat Daleville at home game

The Hamilton Heights baseball team beat Daleville 8-4 last Saturday in a home game.

The Huskies scored four runs in the bottom of the second inning. Landon Cook doubled in Levi Chandler and Dillon Pitts for the first two runs, then Owen Robey’s double brought Cook home. Robey scored on Dean Mason’s RBI groundout.

Chandler cracked a left field double in the third inning to send Pitts home. In the fifth inning, Pitts batted in Nick Hulen with a left field hit, then John Irion scored on a passed ball. Mason got a sixth inning run when Hulen hit a sacrifice fly.

Pitts was 3-for-3 at the plate. Irion went five and a third innings for the win, striking out four.

The Huskies are 8-6, with four games on the schedule this week. Heights plays University Tuesday at RoundTripper academy, then has home games against Lapel on Thursday, Western Boone on Friday and Hamilton Southeastern on Saturday.
