Sheridan’s boys played two games at the Morristown Holiday Classic on Thursday.
First, the Blackhawks fell to Bishop Chatard 85-60. The Trojans jumped out to a 29-15 lead after one quarter and were up 44-31 at halftime. Chatard then poured in another 23 points in the third period.
Three Sheridan players reached double figures in scoring. Tyler Garner and Damon Winston both had 12 points, while Caleb Wright scored 11. Carson Wright led the rebounds with five.
The ‘Hawks came back to win their afternoon game, taking care of Monroe Central 55-48. The Golden Bears had Sheridan down 25-16 at halftime, but the Blackhawks controlled the second half, outscoring Monroe Central 39-21.
Garner and Winston again led the scoring, and the rebounding as well. Garner had 17 points and eight rebounds, while Winston contributed 10 points and six rebounds. Trent DeCraene handed out eight assists and Trey Page dished out four.
Sheridan is 5-4 and plays a Hoosier Heartland Conference game at Tri-Central next Friday, Jan. 5.
