Dear Editor:
Your report Friday regarding Carmel’s official motto and logo left out a couple of details;
- The motto is the 29th in city history, according to the mayor.
- The logo is the umpteenth in recent years and
- The motto/logo effort cost taxpayers $125,000 plus.
That aside, the entire effort reflects a level of civic insecurity and adolescent angst that screams for psychiatric help.
The logo contains no red ink because the city is using all it has when it reports financials.
The motto – “Carmel: a city built for big dreams” – literally means Carmel is a city in la-la-land.
Reality is the opposite of dreaming.
And reality now includes a city leadership unwilling to face it, let alone present a plan for paying off its $1.6 billion debt.
