OneZone Chamber announces endorsement of five Hamilton County school referendums

The OneZone Chamber Board of Directors has voted to support referendum proposals for Carmel Clay Schools, Hamilton Southeastern Schools, Noblesville Schools, Sheridan Community Schools, and Westfield Washington Schools.

“Strong schools and a strong business community are deeply connected,” said Jack Russell, President & CEO of OneZone Chamber of Commerce. “These five referendums have significant implications not only for students and educators, but for the future of Hamilton County. Our schools play an important role in developing our future workforce, attracting and retaining talent, and supporting communities where businesses and families choose to invest.”

Russell continued, “The impact of these decisions extends well beyond the walls of our schools. Employers throughout Hamilton County depend on a talented workforce and on communities that remain attractive places for people to build careers, raise families, and put down roots. That is why OneZone believes it is important for the business community to be engaged in conversations about the long-term strength of our local school systems.”

Russell added that a school referendum reflects the needs of each district.

“Each school district is unique, and each referendum addresses the specific needs of that community,” he said. “Collectively, however, these five referendums represent consequential decisions about the resources available to school systems serving tens of thousands of students across Hamilton County. The outcomes will have impacts on education, workforce development, employers, and communities for years to come.”

The 2026 General Election will be held Tuesday, Nov. 3.
