Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness has endorsed longtime resident and Hamilton Southeastern Schools alumnus Josh Perry in his campaign for Hamilton Southeastern School Board District 2.

Perry is running as a nonpartisan candidate with a campaign focused on providing steady and balanced leadership through collaborative problem solving; supporting teacher retention; practicing fiscal responsibility; and ensuring students across all pathways are set up for success after graduation, including support for the HSE Network Model.

“As Mayor of Fishers and father of three HSE students, I value a school board representative who brings collaborative, straightforward solutions to ensuring our students have a top-tier education. Josh Perry offers exactly that,” Mayor Fadness said. “I support Josh for HSE School Board because we can count on him to support the policies that will continue to lead our community toward excellence.”

Perry thanked the mayor for his support, saying he would be honored to serve his community.

“I’m grateful to have the support of Mayor Fadness,” Perry said. “I’ve seen our community thrive under his leadership and transform into one of the best places to live in America. I’m so proud to call Fishers home and would be honored to serve this community. I want to serve quietly, without the political grandstanding, and focus on doing what’s right for our students, teachers, and families.”

Perry is the father of two students at Harrison Parkway Elementary and is expecting his third child with his wife, Stephanie, in January. Josh and Stephanie both grew up in Fishers, attending New Britton Elementary together before graduating from Hamilton Southeastern High School.

Perry graduated from Purdue University in 2011 with a degree in agricultural education and an intent to teach high school agriculture and science. He spent time in the classroom as an instructional assistant in the emotional and behavioral disabilities program at Carmel Clay Schools before moving into the insurance industry. He currently serves as the Commercial Underwriting Manager for Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, where he oversees commercial property and casualty underwriting for the state of Indiana.

While campaigning, Perry is also actively learning more about the district and the challenges facing HSE Schools. He is a member of the 2026-2027 cohort of HSEngaged, a program hosted by HSE Schools that gives community members a behind-the-scenes look at school operations.

Perry says he was motivated to run for school board to ensure his children and the next generation have access to the same great education and opportunities that helped to set him up for success.

Elections for the Hamilton Southeastern Schools Board of Trustees will be held on Nov. 3. Early voting in Fishers will be held at Holland Park and Billericay Park beginning on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
