At approximately 10:15 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, the Westfield Fire Department (WFD) responded to a residential fire on Amberleaf Trail.
Upon arrival, the first engine reported flames through the roof of the home. Firefighters worked diligently for an hour to extinguish the blaze.
The home, where the fire began, sustained significant fire, smoke, and water damage, but no injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters. Firefighters were able to protect neighboring properties as well. The homeowners were alerted to the fire by functioning smoke alarms, which played a critical role in their safe evacuation.
WFD was assisted by Carmel Fire Department, Noblesville Fire Department, Hamilton County Public Safety Communications, and the Westfield Police Department.
No damage estimate is available at this time, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
WFD reminds residents to regularly check and maintain smoke alarms, as they are vital for early detection and safety.
