Millers, Hounds, Rocks win Saturday tournaments

The Noblesville girls golf team dominated the Lapel Invitational, which took place Saturday at The Edge Golf Club in Anderson.

The Millers’ Black team won with 287; finishing one under par as a team. Josie Kelley earned medalist honors with a score of 67, which is five under par. Myra Sealey also went under par, placing fifth with a minus-one 71.

Hamilton Southeastern was second as a team totaling 299. Sophie Roberts tied for second place with a three under par 69. Janelle Garcia went even par and placed sixth by scoring 72.

Noblesville’s Gold team scored 341; Peyton Kauzlick and Kate Murphy both totaled 79s. Fishers totaled 355; Kendall Manion led the Tigers with 83. Hamilton Heights’ Taylor Morrison scored 82 to lead the Huskies.

The Carmel varsity team picked up another tournament win Saturday, taking the Zionsville Invitational at Golf Club of Indiana.

The Greyhounds scored 300, while the host Eagles were second with 303. Maya Fujisawa Keuling was the medalist, scoring a two under par 70, while Karis Reid scored 73, at point making four birdies in a row. Reese Roudebush scored 78 and Ishin Fang Fujita scored 79.

“The ‘Hounds are just trying to go shot by shot and stay mentally tough,” said Carmel coach Kelly Kluesner. “I’m so proud of each and every one of them. They learn from every tournament and strive to improve. It’s really fun to watch a team just believe in each other.”

Westfield’s Gold team won the Western Invitational at Chippendale Saturday, scoring 300.

Kelsey Haverluck won individual medalist honors with 68, including five birdies. Farrah Camp tied for seventh with 76, followed by Sophie Raines placing eight with 77. Laila Abriani scored 79 and Lilley Ku totaled 82.

The Shamrocks’ Green team totaled 319. Harper Bryant led that group, tying for fourth with 75. Other scores were Kate Brown 79, Addison Ross 82, Olivia Manning 83 and Katey Rosandich 92.

Noblesville sent its White team to Chippendale, and it finished fifth with 355. Millers scores were Gillian Cota 81, Brinlee Julian 88, Olivia Herche 90, Addi Burns 96 and Lexi Anderson 96.

    some very good golf played yesterday- and a rain delay too ! Tough competition ! Congrats to all that participated.
