Mayor Sue Finkam elected to U.S. Conference of Mayors Advisory Board

Finkam

Carmel Mayor Sue Finkam was elected to serve on the United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) Advisory Board at the group’s national gathering June 22 in Tampa, Fla.

USCM is a nonpartisan organization that represents more than 1,400 cities of populations of 30,000 or more. Each city is represented in the conference by its chief elected official, the mayor. Together, these mayors help craft and advance policies that impact local economies, public safety, infrastructure and quality of life for millions of Americans.

Mayor Finkam will join other leaders on the Advisory Board to make policy and program recommendations to USCM’s Executive Committee.

“I am honored that my mayor colleagues elected me to serve in this position,” Mayor Finkam said. “My work with USCM allows me to advocate for Carmel on a national stage. The collaboration and learning by this group benefits our residents and businesses as we share knowledge and champion policies that support Carmel and other cities across the nation.”

The advisory board is comprised of 33 members. Also on the advisory board from Indiana is Mayor Chris Jensen of Noblesville, who was elected to join in 2024.
