Volunteers to pack an additional 500 food boxes for Hoosiers in need

Today, Kroger is adding to its hunger relief team, inviting basketball stars in town for the Final Four to join their next meal packing mission. This time, the hunger fighters will fill another 500 meal kits with nutritious food for local families in need.

The event starts at 2 p.m. today, April 1, at the Coca-Cola Consolidated Distribution Center, 3690 S. County Road 500 East, Whitestown.

In early March, the Kroger team packed 1,000 boxes to help Hoosier families struggling through difficult times. Current and former basketball stars, coaches, and even an IndyCar driver are on the guest list to join the store leaders in Whitestown.

After the packing, the food boxes will be divided between Indiana’s Midwest Food Bank and Shepherd Community Center of Indianapolis.
