Irma Jean Myers

April 14, 1934 – July 21, 2022

Irma Jean Myers, 88, Noblesville, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Riverview Health in Noblesville. She was born on April 14, 1934, to Granger and Leila (Gailey) Wilson in San Diego, Calif.

In the words of Irma’s sister, “Irma Jean, passed away this evening. She leaves an empty place in my heart that no other can fill. She was attended by her loved ones, including her daughter, Sharon, and her first and only love, Gene. Irma Jean lived a life of love and adventure. She traveled the back roads of America behind Gene on a motorcycle. She never let the crippling effects of polio deter her from fulfilling her desires. Life was a challenge and she met it head on. She was a loving wife and mother, she was an accomplished musician (guitar and voice), she was a skilled seamstress, she was a graceful water skier, she was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and taught many different classes during her lifetime, she was an avid genealogist and served two home missions in family research and history.

Paradise has received a treasure this day! I will miss her, but I am sure we will visit from time to time.”

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Gene Myers; daughter, Sharon (Robert) Eup; son, Mark (Nancy) Myers; sister, Verla Gerry; grandchildren, Lisa (Tom), Melanie (Brad), Cory (Kim), Steven, and Jacob; and great-grandchildren, Sara, Evan, Savanna, Sam, Sophia, Scarlett, Skyler, and Noah.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Le Gran Wilson, Alden Wilson, and Ruth Wilson.

Services will be held at noon on Friday, July 29, 2022, at Riverside Cemetery in Noblesville.
