Massey
The Humane Society for Hamilton County (HSHC) announced Wednesday it has hired Terry Massey as its first-ever vice president and chief operating officer.
In this role, Massey will oversee HSHC’s shelter programs, human resources, daily operations, IT services, and software development/integration projects.
“We are thrilled to welcome Terry as our new VP and Chief Operating Officer,” HSHC President & CEO Rebecca Stevens said. “As our shelter has grown immensely over the years, so has our need for additional senior-level leadership that will guide us through our next chapter. Terry’s proven leadership and deep commitment to animal welfare will strengthen our mission to save lives, educate communities, and complete families.”
Massey is an experienced operational leader with a focus on team development and servant leadership. Most recently, he spent four years as senior director of human resources shared services for The Heritage Group (THG), where he was responsible for the frontline support team, benefit administration, HR information services, project management, and compliance. Prior to THG, he spent 13 years in numerous positions at Franciscan Alliance Information Services, concluding his time as director of the program management office and health connect.
With over 17 years in project management, Massey has successfully led all phases of diverse technology projects. He has planned and managed million-dollar projects, aligning business goals with enterprise technology solutions to drive process improvements and bottom-line gains.
When it comes to saving lives, HSHC takes in over 4,000 animals each year, including hundreds at risk for euthanasia in other Indiana shelters. Operating under a truly no-kill philosophy, the shelter has consistently achieved a 98 percent or higher live placement rate since 2014.
