Summer Couch is a Hamilton County business owner of the new female-branded cosmetics company called Exotika Beauty. She founded, owns, runs, and manages all aspects of the company locally in the county.
The new company carries everything from lipsticks to anti-anti-aging creams.
Couch founded this business in May, and what started as a dream quickly became a reality for her. Exotika Beauty was founded upon her passion for helping women feel beautiful. Since she was a teenager, many women would ask her to do their makeup for special occasions. They loved how she was able to make them look and feel beautiful and give them confidence.
Growing up, Summer loved to play with makeup, and the older she got the more she learned about new and trending techniques and applications. Staying up to date with endless techniques can be a challenge, but her 14-year-old stepdaughter Kimber Couch, who shares the same passion for makeup, makes it easy to be on top of recent trends.
Kimber plays a major role in her stepmom’s beauty business and serves as a model for Exotika Beauty. “This is a family business,” Summer said, “and I truly enjoy the time I get to spend with Kimber, sharing our passion and dreams.”
Whether it’s Kimber trying to help her stepmom make a TikTok video or whether it is Summer showing Kimber how to run the business, it truly is a family endeavor. “One day this business could be hers, so every moment we have together means the world to me,” Summer said.
Summer spent a considerable amount of time researching other cosmetic companies. What finally drove her to start Exotika Beauty was based on that research. She discovered that most mainstream cosmetic companies were founded by men and that women historically did not have a large role in ownership or management. Summer said she was disappointed, and she believes that if other women did research on the makeup brands they wear, they would feel the same and would appreciate supporting a female-founded and operated family company.
This inspired Summer to lead by example and create Exotika Beauty: a makeup brand by women, for women.
Exotika Beauty is a high-quality cosmetics company at an affordable price for all women. New inventory is continuously being launched. The entire product line aims to keep skin hydrated and youthful. Its foundations, tinted creams, and tinted oils are UVA/UVB protecting and can reverse the signs of aging.
