The IHSAA announced pairings for this year’s softball sectionals last Sunday.
Carmel will host Class 4A Sectional 8 at its Cherry Tree Softball Complex. The Greyhounds play Fishers in Game 1 of the sectional, with defending champion Westfield taking on Hamilton Southeastern in Game 2.
Noblesville drew a bye and takes on the Carmel-Fishers winner in the first semifinal, while Zionsville got the other bye and plays the Westfield-Southeastern winner in the other semifinal.
In Class 3A, Guerin Catholic and defending champion Hamilton Heights play in Sectional 27 at Bishop Chatard, a five-team sectional. The opening-round game features the host Trojans taking on Shortridge.
Heights will play Brebeuf Jesuit in the first semifinal, with Guerin Catholic playing the Chatard-Shortridge winner in the second semifinal.
Sheridan plays in Class 2A Sectional 43 at Cascade, also a five-team sectional. Cardinal Ritter takes on Riverside in the opening-round game, then the Blackhawks play Cascade in the first semifinal. Covenant Christian plays the Ritter-Riverside winner in the second semifinal.
All semifinal winners advance to their respective championship games. Dates and times for all sectionals are being determined.
