Girls tennis: Golden Eagles moves to top of coaches poll

The Guerin Catholic girls tennis team is making history this week, moving up to No. 1 in this week’s Indiana High School Tennis Coaches Association poll.

The Golden Eagles moved to the top spot after winning the Carmel Invitational on Saturday, April 25. Guerin Catholic finished three points ahead (38-35) of Brebeuf Jesuit, now the No. 2 team in the state.

The two teams will face off Thursday at the GC courts for a dual meet. The start time is 5 p.m.

Park Tudor is ranked No. 3, followed by Center Grove at No. 4 and Carmel at No. 5. Other ranked teams in the county are Westfield (11), Fishers (19) and Hamilton Southeastern (24). Nearby ranked teams include North Central (7), Zionsville (20) and Mt. Vernon (30).
