Girls golf: Golden Eagles win third straight Circle City championship

The Guerin Catholic girls golf team won its third consecutive Circle City Conference championship Saturday at Pebble Brook Golf Club.
The Golden Eagles ran away with the team trophy by scoring 310. Bishop Chatard was second with a score of 360, followed by Heritage Christian 362, Brebeuf Jesuit 376, Roncalli 388 and Covenant Christian 398.
Guerin Catholic’s Sophie McGinnis was the overall medalist, winning a playoff with the Trojans’ Maggie Schaffer. Both girls had scores of 73, and each made two birdies in their respective rounds.
Angelica Pfefferkorn and Christina Pfefferkorn both scored 78s, tying them for fourth place. Angelica made one birdie in her round. Mckayla Tallman placed sixth with an 81, she made two birdies. Jenna Rust scored 100.
