Fishers road construction updates, week of Nov. 13

Fall Creek & Geist Road

During the week of Nov. 13, there will be lane restrictions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. just east of the intersection of Fall Creek and Geist Road to allow for manhole grade adjustments. Lane restrictions will also be in place on Geist Road between Governors Lane and Windjammer Trace on Geist Road.

106th Street & Hoosier Road

The intersection of 106th Street and Hoosier Road is closed for the construction of a roundabout. Access into and out of Windermere subdivision will be on Geist Road via Governors Lane. Detour route can be found here. For additional project information, view the Capital Project Dashboard here.

Due to utility conflicts and drainage revisions, the city worked with the consultant on record on updating the plans to this intersection. The contractor had to pause work while we work through the design changes and revisions. Currently we are back up and running on construction and the contractor is working as hard as possible to get the roundabout constructed and open to traffic. The 60 days of closure had to be extended to afford the contractor time to finish the work before the weather changes. The schedule for reopening the intersection is currently being refined with the contractor but they have assured us that this intersection will be opened before the end of the year with some cleanup work extending into next spring. The city apologizes for the inconvenience during navigation of these items with the utilities, Hamilton County Surveyor’s Office, the contractor, and the consultant.

Geist Greenway

Geist Greenway is now open between Valley Crossing and 126th Street. Work has resumed on the trail south of Valley Crossing Drive and will remain closed until construction is finished. Construction continues to take place on Florida Road and between Bowline Drive and 104th Street. For general project information, please visit playfishers.com/299/Geist-Greenway.
