Fishers City Councilor John Weingardt files for re-election

Fishers City Councilor John Weingardt has officially filed with the Hamilton County Elections Office to run for re-election in the 2019 Republican Primary.

Representing the South Central District (District 4), Weingardt has been a resident of Fishers for 27 years and has been on the City Council since 2011. He served as Town Council President in 2013 and 2014 and City Council President in 2016.

“I am humbled and honored to have the support of so many of my fellow neighbors,” said Weingardt. “We have seen tremendous growth in Fishers’ entrepreneurial and financial successes all while increasing the identity and amenities of our beloved City. I am truly excited for the future of Fishers as a safe, smart and exciting place to live and work, and I will continue to reach out to constituents and residents on their vision for our community. Fishers’ best days are yet to come and I am excited at the opportunity to continue being a part of my community.”

John has a B.S. in Accounting, Economics and Business Administration from the University of Indianapolis. He is a Partner and Certified Public Accountant at Peachin, Schwartz and Weingardt, also located in Fishers. He is a member of the Indiana CPA Society and holds his Series 7, Series 63 and Insurance licenses. John currently serves on the board of the Fishers Police Foundation and Launch Fishers. He also serves on the City Council’s Budget and Finance Committee.

John has been married to his wife, Tina, for 33 years. He has two daughters and three sons – Ashley and Chris Summers, Abby and Ben Bauer and John R. Weingardt. He has two granddaughters, Ellie and Quinn Summers, and will be adding another campaign volunteer in May with Baby Summers No. 3.
