JazzTalk: A Conversation with Sammy Miller
Monday, March 25 at 7 p.m.
Online – free!

On Monday, March 25 join in for an engaging live conversation with Sammy Miller, who is bringing his NYC-based band The Congregation to the Palladium on April 19 for a Student Matinee and an all-ages evening performance in the Drewry Simmons Vornehm Jazz Series.

With a witty and theatrical approach that has drawn comparisons to Ben Folds and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Sammy Miller and The Congregation are “on a mission to put the generosity back into jazz and bring art back to the people.” Led by Grammy-nominated drummer Miller, the seven-piece group is a community of adventurous and charismatic musicians who are conservatory-trained but have not lost their childlike wonder and awe for playing music. Since its inception, the Congregation has played nonstop around the world, including Lincoln Center, the White House and the Newport and Monterey jazz festivals.

One of the best ways to understand your place in an ever-evolving world is to step outside your comfort zones and create.

For Brandon Wilson, a singer-songwriter and life/business coach, making things up is a way of life. But navigating his relationship with creativity has been quite a journey, one that kept him in trouble for most of his younger years, took him to Nashville to make a go of a career in music, and so much more.

Join Wilson as he sings songs, shares stories, and talks about the power of creating. Who knows, you might walk out with the beginnings of your own song!
