The Sheridan baseball team picked up a 5-1 Hoosier Heartland Conference win over Tri-Central on Tuesday.
Braelan Bochner pitched a no-hitter for the Blackhawks, striking out seven in a complete-game effort. Bochner only allowed three walks.
Levi Gellert led off the game with a double for the Hawks, then was batted in by Braelan Bochner. The Trojans tied the game in the bottom of the first inning, but Sheridan took the lead for good in the fourth inning when Jake Hall scored on an error.
Chance Spencer tripled in Gellert for a fifth-inning run, then was brought home by a Bochner single. Crew Spencer scored in the sixth inning on Chance Spencer’s RBI fielder’s choice.
Hall and Brayden Whisman both hit one double.
Sheridan dropped a 7-4 game to Tipton on Saturday, April 25. The Blackhawks scored all four of their runs in the sixth inning.
Whisman got the first run after Cesar Cuautle reached on a dropped third strike. Austin Hinshaw doubled in Cuautle and Hall, then scored on a Walker McWhorter single.
Hall struck out four in five innings.
Sheridan is 2-1 in the conference and 5-7 overall. The Blackhawks host Rossville on Thursday in another HHC game.

Carmel split a Saturday, April 25 doubleheader with Fort Wayne Carroll at Hartman Field.
The Greyhounds won the first game 4-3. Carmel got on the board first with two runs in the second inning. Mark Neels led off with a double and later scored on a Silas Neal double. Adam Fouts singled in Kane Hare to put the Hounds up 2-0.
The Chargers hit back-to-back doubles in the fourth inning to take a 3-2 lead. Carmel tied the game in the bottom of the fourth after John Zangrilli doubled in Neels, then Fouts scored in the seventh inning to give the Greyhounds the win.
Cam Carmichael pitched a complete game, striking out 10 for the win.
Carroll won the second game 3-2. The Chargers led 2-0 midway through the fourth before Carmel got on the board in the bottom of the inning. Jackson Treadway scored on a passed ball.
Both teams added a run in the seventh inning. Nate Steele scored for the Greyhounds on a passed ball.
Jacob Behm hit a double. Eli Wier struck out five in four innings.
