On Tuesday, Dec. 12 and Wednesday, Dec. 13, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Community Foundation will help save Christmas for 48 local children.
Santa’s little helpers shopped for gifts at Target and collected warm winter coats. HCSO staff filled personalized stockings and wrapped the presents. The next step will involve the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Christmas Express. Santa Claus, Deputy Justice (mascot), patrol deputies, correctional officers, and family members will load large red bags full of toys into police vehicles. The jolly group will then hand deliver the gifts on the front doorsteps of the participating families.
A special thank you goes to the HCSO Citizens Academy Alumni Association, Target, Hamilton County Youth Assistance Program, and many contributions from the community for helping to make this event possible each year.
The HSCO Community Foundation’s is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, and its goals include:
- Providing financial aid and help for those in need in our community, particularly children.
- Supporting the hardworking employees at the Sheriff’s Office.
- Building stronger relationships between deputies, corrections officers, and staff with all members of the community.
All aboard! The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Christmas Express is coming to a neighborhood near you.
