Fishers & Southeastern pair bring home FC Showcase wins

Many of Hamilton County’s elite distance runners joined other top runners from across Indiana (and beyond) last Friday night at the Franklin Central Showcase.

The county claimed a pair of winners during the race. Fishers’ Matthew Kim won the third heat of the Boys 1 Mile Run, clocking in at 4 minutes, 18.07 seconds. Hamilton Southeastern’s Riley Schamp won the first heat of the Boys Freshman Mile, finishing in 4:42.94.

Carmel’s Kole Mathison took second in the fast heat of the Boys race, with a time of 4:11.36. The winner was Martinsville’s Martin Barco in a time of 4:08.94. Noblesville’s Summer Rempe finished fourth in the Girls 1 Mile Race, clocking in at 4:57.37. Park Tudor’s Sophia Kennedy dominated the Girls race with a time of 4:49.18.

Noblesville’s Jack Strong was second in the second heat of the Boys race. Carmel’s 4×800 relay team finished in 8:07.32, and was just edged out by Brownsburg for first place by .01 seconds.
