What’s on tap during the 2022-23 season? Well, there’s a rousing tribute to the Queen of Soul. The very best from the master of the movie score. A fiery Hispanic Heritage Month celebration. Masterworks 1

7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Palladium

Guest artists: Brazilian pianist, vocalist and composer Clarice Assad along with local favorites, Pavel & Direct Contact

This spirited Hispanic Heritage Month celebration is the perfect launch to a CSO season loaded with excitement. Stay tuned for an upcoming announcement about a companion event that you will not want to miss.

Masterworks 2

7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 at the Palladium

Guest artist: violinist Alexi Kenney. Among selections on this evening is the glorious Pines of Rome, the tone poem for orchestra by Respighi, written as a tribute to various scenes in and around Italy’s beloved capital.

CSO Holiday Pops

3 & 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4 at the Palladium

Guest artists: vocalists Josh Kaufman and Leah Crane, NZtapz and Indianapolis Children’s Choir. Not one, but two opportunities to kick off your holiday celebrations, with matinee and evening performances of our reimagined Holiday Pops. Music, dance and plenty of cheer in CSO’s holiday gift to you.

Serpentine Fire: the Music of Earth, Wind & Fire

7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Palladium

Let’s Groove tonight with Las Vegas’ best instrumental and vocal talents presenting a dynamic journey through the ‘70s and ‘80s hits of EW&F. Sophisticated orchestration creates an irresistible show for all ages. Be a Shining Star and gather family and friends together for hot sounds on a (likely) cold night.

CSO Family Fun Concert

3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 29 at the Palladium

This is an annual interactive introduction for children to some of the world’s greatest orchestral classics in a program sure to please all ages. Youngsters will have the opportunity to join musicians on stage during the concert and witness musical magic up close.

7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023 at the Palladium

Guest artists: Harlem Quartet (with Carmel native Felix Umansky). It’s all about love in this lush, pre-Valentine’s concert. From the classics of Wagner and Tchaikovsky to more contemporary music including Bernstein’s West Side Story, this concert has appeal for all music listeners and lovers. 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at the Palladium

The Best of John Williams – a Tribute Concert. Selections you know and love from movies you know by heart, all from Hollywood’s most prolific and treasured composer. Even better, the music will be performed by the CSO to film clips shown on the Palladium’s big screen.

7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the Palladium

Guest artist: cellist Sterling Elliott. Among this evening’s selections are the beloved Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 4, and In Rowan Oak, a tribute to legendary American author William Faulkner composed by Indiana’s own Dr. John Berners, Professor of Music at the University of Indianapolis.

Respect: A Tribute to Aretha Franklin

7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the Palladium

CSO’s dynamic 47th season concludes with this rousing tribute to the immortal Queen of Soul. Respect – A Tribute to Aretha Franklin presents a look at the life and music of the multiple Grammy winner and first woman inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. What more can be said? It’s Aretha and the music you love.
