Dear Editor,
I am sure everyone is aware of the signs all over Noblesville; it is political season.
Although the primaries are just a couple of weeks away, parents around the city have been looking ahead to the general election and the two school board openings. Both current president Joe Forgey and Lisa Sobek’s seats will be open. While the Noblesville schools are going through a change in leadership in the superintendent and associate superintendents’ positions, it is not a stretch to say these two seats are very important to the future of the schools and the education of the children of this city.
Noblesville United, a parent group dedicated to the excellence of Noblesville Schools, is hosting a town hall event on Monday, April 25 to introduce two candidates who will be seeking these school board seats.
This will be a fantastic opportunity for the public to meet and ask questions of these candidates and find out more about them. Voting is a founding duty of this great country, and in choosing those who will represent us, it is vitally important that we are educated on who and what we are voting for. This town hall presents a fantastic opportunity to do just that: To educate ourselves about these candidates and what exactly they would bring to the district and the education of our children.
Noblesville United stands for academic excellence for all students as well as a safe and prosperous community where individual freedoms are paramount, and our law enforcement, first responders, and veterans are supported.
We are concerned that ISTEP/ILEARN scores have been steadily falling since 2014. This impacts not only our children’s futures but the future of our community and our nation. This town hall will give the people of Noblesville the chance to ask the hard questions and have input on the direction of our schools.
Noblesville United invites the amazing people of Noblesville to come out at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 25 to Life Church, 2200 Sheridan Road (State Road 38). Noblesville deserves the best, and we encourage everyone to educate themselves to choose the best candidates … for the sake of our children and our community.
