Dear Editor:

I’m writing today to express my support for a candidate for Hamilton County Council – Tim Griffin.

From the first time we met when he was a lifeguard at our neighborhood pool more than 25 years ago, Tim has always been a true neighbor in every sense of the word: Friendly, accessible and always willing to lend a helping hand and dive in. He is truly a wonderful human with a commitment to service since his youth.

Tim has been a lifeline for me and my family. When I was preparing to be an in-home caretaker for my grandparents, Tim offered tips on how to make our home safer, connected us with local resources, and was ALWAYS there for us.

As a newspaper reporter covering Carmel, I often connected with Tim in his role as Public Information Officer, Tim was friendly, forthright and always excited to connect with the community. Tim has played a key role in so many important CFD programs, including the Community Assistance Program and Fuel Up to Fire Up – a program led by Tim to teach Carmel’s youngest citizens about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

I am immensely grateful to know Tim as our local lifeguard, neighbor, firefighter, and friend over the years. I look forward to him continuing to lead with his family-focused sensibilities, service-based heart, and community-centered expertise on the Hamilton County Council.
