COTA-sponsored fundraiser will raise money for transplant-related expenses

A fun 2-mile “Jog for Jax” will be held for the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) in honor of Jax Sutton, a Noblesville toddler who needs a kidney transplant.

The event is planned for 2 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 6 in Noblesville. Two-year-old Jax is currently being evaluated for a kidney transplant that would take place with top regional pediatric transplant specialists at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in Ohio. Funds are being raised for COTA in honor of Jax to assist with transplant-related expenses.

Participants can join the in-person, kid-friendly jog through the Lake Forest neighborhood near 161st Street and Hazel Dell Road or jog on their own. To register for Jog for Jax, a COTA for Jax event, go to the Events page on COTAforJax.com. Individuals can register for $25 and families for $100. COTA for Jax shirts can be ordered online separately whether joining the jog, serving as a volunteer or simply showing your support for COTA for Jax.

“The outpouring of support for the Sutton family from the community up to this point has been phenomenal,” said Event Chair Celeste Stanley, part of the COTA for Jax volunteer committee. “Friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, classmates are all invited to celebrate this important milestone for Jax – not only turning two, but also moving forward with plans for a kidney transplant. We are so grateful for COTA events like this that help give people like Jax a chance for a brighter future.”

Jax was diagnosed with end-stage renal failure. Local volunteers have a fundraising goal of $60,000 for COTA in honor of Jax to assist with transplant-related expenses throughout his lifetime.
