Central Indiana Community Foundation and the Hamilton County Community Foundation have announced that five students from five Hamilton County schools have been awarded the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship.
Lilly Scholars are known for their community involvement, academic achievement, character and leadership.
- Emerson Chapple – Fishers High School
- Maria Hand – Westfield High School
- Anna Hopson – Carmel High School
- Aisha Kokan – University High School
- Devyn Taylor – Hamilton Heights High School
Each Lilly Endowment Scholarship provides full tuition, required fees and a special allocation of up to $900 per year for required books and equipment for four years of undergraduate study on a full-time basis leading to a baccalaureate degree at any eligible Indiana public or private, not-for-profit college or university.
The Lilly Endowment created the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program for the 1998-1999 school year and has supported the program every year since with tuition grants totaling over $439 million. More than 5,000 Indiana students have received this scholarship since the program’s inception.
