Cruise Indy & Folds of Honor Indiana celebrate vehicles with a charitable cause

Cruise Indy and Folds of Honor Indiana held their annual free, family-friendly celebration on Saturday morning, Aug. 22, at the Indiana Spine Group in Carmel. Cruise Indy featured motor-powered vehicles from all makes and models, and Mike Daggett, Folds of Honor Indiana Founder and Executive Director, delivered remarks at the event about the impact of donations.

Family activities at Cruise Indy include music, food, a kids’ candy drop and face painting. The event will feature military and first responder tributes, including the Gordon Bagpipers, a 21-gun salute and a live performance of the National Anthem with a Folds of Honor presentation.

More than an exhibition, Cruise Indy is a platform for purpose, featuring a heartfelt tribute to Folds of Honor Indiana and the military community. Representatives from every branch of the U.S. military and a color guard ceremony remind attendees of the true reason behind the gathering: to honor those who serve and sacrifice.

Folds of Honor scholarships are based on unmet need for spouses and children of fallen and disabled service members and first responders, and can cover tuition, fees, on-campus dormitory housing, meal plans and required textbooks. Scholarship recipients are required to maintain a 2.0 or higher grade-point average for the two most recent academic terms. For young children not attending private school or secondary education, Future Use Scholarships are available to use at a later date.

Since its inception in 2007, the national Folds of Honor organization, which includes Indiana’s efforts, has awarded nearly 73,000 scholarships totaling over $340 million to the spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members and first responders. Folds of Honor Indiana is the local chapter of the national Folds of Honor organization.
