Children’s performance series on sale now

Peanut Butter & Jam sessions make great weekend outings for families

Young children can experience the wonder of live performance through Allied Solutions Center for the Performing Arts’ monthly Peanut Butter & Jam series, which begins a new season Sept. 26.

With fun and informal sessions designed for ages 1 to 7, Peanut Butter & Jam sponsored by PEAS for Kids takes place one Saturday each month from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. in the Studio Theater, 4 Carter Green, Carmel.

Tickets are only $10 per child, which includes free admission for two accompanying adults, creating a fun and affordable weekend outing for families. Mariachi Sol Jalisciense de Indianapolis, Sept. 26: Central Indiana mariachi ensemble performs lively and colorful music and dance from the Mexican state of Jalisco.

Indianapolis Opera: Sing Me a Story, Oct. 10: Indianapolis Opera’s new children’s program, Sing Me a Story, features unforgettable music, colorful storytelling and powerful lessons inspired by beloved folk tales.

Silly Safaris: Animals of the North Pole, Nov. 14 (10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.): Presenter Jingle John, in character as a Sami reindeer herder, introduces kids to the amazing live animals of the Arctic Circle – including a real reindeer.

Melchior Marionettes: Holiday Cabaret on Strings, Dec. 12 (10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.): Back by popular demand, this fast-paced seasonal cabaret for all ages features handcrafted marionettes and classic holiday songs.

Brandon Meeks Trio, Jan. 9: Award-winning bandleader introduces young listeners to the joy of jazz through playful rhythms, lively improvisation and interactive moments for families.

Relevations Dance Company, Feb. 20: Indianapolis-based dance company explores the world of expression through dance, from ballet and jazz to hip-hop, tap and beyond.

Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra: The Garden Symphony, March 6: ISO’s Teddy Bear Concerts invite children to discover the instruments of the orchestra through engaging stories, movement, and music.

The Shake Ups, April 10: Award-winning power-pop band from Indianapolis performs songs inspired by a variety of cartoon favorites.

Epiphany Dance Collective, My 22: Indianapolis-based performance troupe preserves the energetic and joyful traditions of West African dancing and drumming.
