The Westfield girls tennis team beat Brownsburg 4-3 in its home opener on Wednesday.
The Hoosier Crossroads Conference match between the host and No. 9-ranked Shamrocks and the Bulldogs featured an expanded varsity lineup with three singles and four doubles courts.
In singles play, No. 1 Isla Harvey was a 6-2, 6-2 winner, followed by No. 2 Sloane Stephens earning a 6-1, 6-3 victory. No. 3 singles Alexis Halliburton dropped a tough three-set match 6-2, 0-6, 6-2.
The No. 1 doubles team of Jenna Berry and Bella Rivera was a 6-2, 6-3 winner, while Kendall Omer and Rayna Roy took care of the No. 2 doubles match with a 6-1, 6-1 victory. No. 3 doubles Emerson Dierkes and Jilly Omer fell 6-2, 6-1, while No. 4 doubles Caroline Hopkins and Reese Miller dropped their match 6-3, 6-3.
The Shamrocks are 1-1 and host Avon tonight for another HCC dual meet.
