Donna Buckley, the longtime Noblesville girls basketball coach, has resigned.

Buckley announced her resignation on Monday after 18 seasons at the Millers coach. She began her tenure at Noblesville in 2008 and had a successful run, finishing with winning records in 13 of those 18 seasons.

“I want to thank Coach Buckley for her dedication and commitment to Noblesville High School basketball over the past 18 years,” Noblesville athletic director Leah Wooldridge said in a statement. “During her tenure, she has developed countless student-athletes and helped lead our program to a state championship, along with many other accomplishments. We are grateful for the lasting impact she has made on our program and look forward to the continued positive influence she will have on students in her role as a health and wellness teacher at NHS.”

Buckley led the Millers to a Class 4A state championship in 2022, the second in program history. The Miller also won a regional title and reached the final four in 2024 and claimed additional sectional championships in 2015 and 2021. Buckley’s Noblesville teams have compiled 20-win seasons five times since the 2014-15 school year.

Before coming to Noblesville, Buckley coached at Greenfield-Central from 2001 to 2008, guiding the Cougars to a sectional championship in 2004. She has 371 career wins, with 275 of those victories at Noblesville.

Buckley graduated from Clinton Central in 1993 and attended Taylor University, playing basketball there for two seasons. She was an assistant coach at South Adams and spent one season as the head coach at Fort Wayne South Side before moving to Greenfield-Central.

Buckley was the IBCA District 2 Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2021 and was an assistant coach for the Indiana All-Stars in 2021.

Hate to see Coach Buckley go. She’s given so much to no only the high school program but also the local youth girls basketball program.

This is just wrong!! She is a wonderful coach. I am tired of students who are leaving the program ruining everything for others and principals and athletic departments making up excuses to fire great people!!
