Samiha Zaman is serving as an intern for the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus during the 2026 legislative session, said State Sen. Kyle Walker (R-Lawrence).

Zaman graduated from Carmel High School and is a junior at Indiana University Indianapolis studying political science and quantitative economics.

“Interns help in a variety of ways around the Statehouse, and are especially helpful during session,” Walker said. “I can’t stress enough how great it is to see someone from our community take an interest in state government.”

As a legislative intern, Zaman tracks and analyzes bill data, provides constituent services, staffs Senate committee hearings and meetings, and conducts legislative policy research.

“I am grateful for this internship and for the opportunity to play a part in the 2026 legislative session,” Zaman said.

Senate Majority interns work through the duration of the legislative session, which is scheduled to conclude by the end of February.
