The Hamilton Heights boys basketball team is playing at a high level and couldn’t be doing so at a better time of the season.

The Saturday, Feb. 7 home game against Winchester wasn’t any different. The Huskies had no trouble dispatching the visiting Falcons with a 67-47 win.

Heights jumped out to a comfortable 19-8 lead in the first and kept going in the second.

The Falcons kept it honest in the second but still trailed the Huskies 37-24 at the break.

Defense of its home court was the main objective and that’s exactly what Heights did, outscoring Winchester 30-23 in the second half to pull away for the 20-point victory.

Rees Knapp led with 18 points and seven rebounds. Two other teammates joined in double figures. Jack Kakasuleff had 14 on 7-of-12 shooting and six assists, while Jackson Mikesell had 12 points and grabbed nine boards.

Hamilton Heights (10-7) is on a 10-game winning streak and faces a tough test in an all-county showdown at Westfield (9-7) on Tuesday night.
