February 17, 1954 – January 19, 2026
Michael Lester Foster, a loving and loyal husband, father, and grandfather, was born on February 17, 1954, in Watseka, Ill. He passed away on January 19, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Michael was a supportive and generous soul, known for his unwavering commitment to his family and his community.
Michael was a dedicated and successful salesman in the food industry until his retirement. He was a man of many passions, with a particular love for all things music. Known for his encyclopedic knowledge of bands, instruments, and concerts, Michael’s enthusiasm was infectious. He also enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, cheering on the Chicago Blackhawks and Colts football teams, and the satisfaction of rebuilding cars in his garage. An avid reader, Michael reveled in the world of books. He served at Noblesville St. Vincent de Paul and was instrumental in establishing the Food Pantry, reflecting his generous spirit. What mattered most to him, however, were his family, his love for cars and hockey, and his commitment to supporting those around him.
Michael Foster is survived by his wife, Lyla Foster, to whom he was married on June 7, 1980. He leaves behind his children, Patrick (Morgan) Foster, Paul Foster, A.J. (Nora) Foster, Monica (Dustin) Weber, and Charlie Foster. He was the proud grandfather of Elayna Lachs, Emma (Logan) Harris, Chloe Weber, Bella Weber, Mia, Lydia Siebert, Charley Weber, Paisley Weber, Arlo Foster, Amelia Foster, Penelope Rachles, and the great-grandfather of Cole Weber. He also leaves behind his sister, Mary Beth (Dix) Firestone, and several nieces and nephews.
