Lisa Suzanne Flanders has officially announced her candidacy for White River Township Trustee as a Republican.
Flanders has served on the White River Township Board for 12 years. She currently serves as Board Secretary and has previously served as Board President, giving her extensive experience and a deep understanding of township operations and resident needs.
During her time on the board, Flanders played a key role in advancing critical public safety initiatives, including pushing for the establishment of White River Township’s own ambulance service. Her leadership helped ensure faster and more reliable emergency response for township residents.
Flanders already works closely with the White River Township Fire Department and is committed to maintaining open communication, transparency, and strong cooperation with first responders. As Trustee, she will continue supporting the department and prioritizing public safety services.
Another key focus of Flanders’ vision is providing meaningful assistance to residents facing hardship. She supports responsible poor relief initiatives and believes in evaluating assistance requests on a case-by-case basis to ensure township resources are used wisely while truly helping those in need. Her previous 10 years working for the WIC program have given her valuable insight into what families and individuals truly need, helping her approach relief efforts with understanding and effectiveness.
A business owner in the township and a farmer’s wife, Flanders is dedicated to preserving the rural values that define White River Township. She believes in fiscal responsibility, transparent government, and efficient delivery of essential services while protecting taxpayer dollars. She also plans to fight for residents’ personal property rights and protect the freedoms that make the township a great place to live and work.
“As Trustee, I will continue working to keep our township safe, financially sound, and responsive to the people we serve,” Flanders said. “I’m committed to listening to residents and building practical solutions that benefit our community today and in the future.”
Flanders will appear on the Republican primary ballot this spring.
