The Hamilton Southeastern Royals have officially put their setback stretch in the rearview mirror.
After consecutive wins the week prior, the Royals swept their back-to-back weekend, capped by a 76-69 victory against visiting Anderson on Saturday, Jan. 17.
HSE improved its overall record to 7-6, as the program surged to its fourth straight win. Entering their turnaround streak, the Royals had lost five of their previous six contests, including three in a row.
Against Anderson, the Royals overcame a 34-32 halftime deficit by outscoring the Indians 44-35 in the second half.
HSE converted 7 of 15 3-pointers (4-for-8 in the second half), shot 51 percent from the field for the game and outrebounded Anderson 32-25 to prevail.
Both senior Maverick Young and sophomore Varschon Clark finished with a team-high 19 points. Clark added eight rebounds, while Young went 5 of 6 from beyond the arc.
Senior Landon Osswald had 16 points with a team-best nine rebounds. Senior Luke Weemer had 10 points.
The Royals shot 21 of 24 from the charity stripe and built their largest lead in the fourth quarter, 68-58, as both teams battled through seven ties and 12 lead changes.
HSE hosts Zionsville on Friday, Jan. 23.
