Mary E. Hazlett, 92, Noblesville, formerly of Valparaiso, Ind., passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025. She was born December 9, 1932, in Hebron, Ind., to Jay and Hildreth (Summers) Buchanan and graduated from Hebron High School in 1950.
Over the last 53 years, Mary was a faithful member of the Valparaiso and the Noblesville First United Methodist Churches.
On April 6, 1952, she married Charles Hazlett, who preceded her in death in 2016. Survivors include their children: Charles (Patricia) Hazlett of Carolina Shores, N.C., Phillip (Kim) Hazlett of Columbia, S.C., Michele (Todd) Reel of Noblesville, and Ames (Connie) Hazlett of Valparaiso; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Brian (Holly) Abrams.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, January 16 at Valparaiso First United Methodist Church, 103 N. Franklin St., with memorial service beginning at 11 a.m., with Rev. Jared Kendall and Rev. Bob Coolman officiating.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Noblesville First United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 18, with Rev. Nicole Caldwell-Gross officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter DT, 150 Harrowgate Drive, Carmel, IN 46033, to support education opportunities for women.
