September 7, 1955 – November 30, 2025
On November 30, 2025, our beloved Kerry Wayne McFall, lovingly known by many as the Mayor of Riverwood and Turtle Man, peacefully took his last journey. Born in Noblesville on September 7, 1955, Kerry spent his entire life embracing the community he loved. He was a beacon of joy, an adventurer, and a compassionate friend to all.
Kerry was a man of simplicity and depth, with a funny bone that could cut through any dull moment. With his thoughtful demeanor, he touched many lives and formed countless bonds, the deepest one being with his childhood friend, Bob Benson, who remained a significant part of his life. Kerry’s love for the outdoors was unparalleled. He was often found hunting, fishing, or simply enjoying the tranquility of the river. His adventurous spirit led him to frequent the sale barn in Strawtown, a place that always brought out his jovial side. He loved riding his bike around the neighborhood, checking on everyone, and spreading warmth and laughter. As Mark Twain once said, “The secret of success is making your vocation your vacation.” Kerry truly embodied this, turning his favorite pastimes into a lifestyle.
Never married, Kerry found love and warmth in his family and friends. He was a proud uncle to Roger (Shawna) Fouse, Steven Dekorsi, Robert (Kim) Fouse, and Louie (Niccole) Dekorsi, a doting great-uncle to Gabe Dekorsi, Brianna Fouse, Shelby Fouse, Ryleigh Hershey, Sawyer Fouse, Quinn Fouse, and Hudson Fouse, and a cherished brother to his sister, Tammy (Lou) Dekorsi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Phyllis McFall, and his grandparents, Martha Reynolds, Leland McFall, and Mae McFall.
Kerry will forever be remembered for his compassionate and adventurous spirit, his love for his family and friends, and the joy he brought to every life he touched. A quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson, “The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well,” captures the essence of Kerry’s life. His memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those he left behind.
Kerry’s wishes were to be cremated, and his care has been entrusted to Hartley Funeral Homes – Cicero.
Please join us in celebrating Kerry’s life by sharing your memories and photos on his memorial page. May his adventurous spirit and boundless compassion continue to inspire us all.
