The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra (ISO) is ready to celebrate the Fourth of July with three patriotic performances at Kroger Symphony on the Prairie. Conductor Alfred Savia, trumpeter Byron Stripling, and narrator Dean Dorrell along with the ISO will present a performance you won’t want to miss. Concerts run nightly July 3 to 5 starting at 8 p.m. and each one features an exciting fireworks finale to the 1812 Overture. Gates open at 6 p.m.
As part of the pre-show festivities on July 3 and 5, the 38th Infantry Division Band will perform from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. to honor Army veterans and families. 2025 marks the 250th anniversary of the establishment of the United States Army, and the 38th Infantry Division Band will commemorate this significant milestone with a musical journey through history as they reflect on the legacy of service, sacrifice, and dedication. The 38th Infantry Division Band was organized in 1917 and remains the only military band in the state of Indiana. The band performs a wide variety of music, including marches, traditional and patriotic selections, and jazz or other popular music styles.
