Ten Westfield Lions stepped up on last Friday, June 20, to serve ice cream to more than 300 students who were in town as part of the annual Crossroads Church at Westfield’s Group Mission Trips project proving free home repairs.

Each year these students come to Westfield to help perform all kinds of home maintenance projects for families in need. This year, during the week, the students worked on 45 homes and that work benefited 60 residents.

These students are learning the importance of serving others – just like the Lions Club, whose motto is “We Serve.” The Westfield Lions continue to place an emphasis on working with youth in the area, including students throughout the Westfield school system. Free vision screenings, dictionaries for every third grader, scholarships for seniors, and grants for the Westfield Education Foundation are some examples of how the Lions support Westfield youth.
