The meeting was led by the Party Chair Josh Lowry, and Committee Member Nocona Canady-Flatt. The featured speaker of the night was Indiana Democratic Party Chair Karen Tallian.
Tallian did a sit-down Q&A with moderator Christina Downey, vice provost for undergraduate education at Indiana University-Indianapolis. Attendees submitted questions beforehand.
Tallian emphasized the need for the party to win elections and explained that after talking with several county chairs, the biggest policy priorities are the economy, government control and stability.
Regarding how the party is working to win more elections, she noted the recent hiring of a new political director and the launch of a new program called The County Victory Program, which will bring county chairs together for monthly meetings.

Tallian also stressed the importance of fundraising, explaining that the party does not receive enough funds from the Democratic National Committee to operate effectively. Other topics included reaching more democrats in Hamilton County through canvassing and voter registration.
The party has several upcoming events and appearances planned, including CarmelFest, the Spark!Fishers, parade and a diaper drive. Organizers stressed the need for more volunteers for these events and encouraged attendees to participate.
