The Indiana Bond Bank (IBB) is celebrating a significant milestone as Director of Operations Ron Mangus marks 30 years of dedicated service to the organization.

Since joining IBB in 1995, Mangus has played a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s mission to provide cost-effective financing solutions to local units of government across Indiana. Over the last three decades, the Indiana Bond Bank has delivered more than $21 billion in loans to Hoosier communities – and his steady leadership has been central to that success.

In his role as Director of Operations, Mangus oversees the daily operations and business functions of the Bond Bank. He brings unmatched bond experience and technical expertise to the agency. His responsibilities include managing IBB programs, working directly with clients, procuring and managing contractual relationships, and providing guidance and training to IBB staff – all in support of the Bond Bank’s strategic mission.

To top it off, Indiana Treasurer Daniel Elliott honored Mangus on Wednesday with the Sentinel of the Vault. The Sentinel of the Vault is an award given by the State Treasurer to those who demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to investing in Hoosiers’ lives and serve as trusted stewards in their respective fields.

“Ron’s leadership and dedication have been instrumental in shaping the Indiana Bond Bank into what it is today,” said Elliott, who serves as Chair of the IBB Board. “His decades of service reflect not only professional excellence, but a heart for public service and a deep commitment to Indiana’s local communities.”

Former Indiana State Treasurer Tim Berry also praised Mangus’ contributions.

“Ron’s dedication and commitment to serving Indiana has played a major role in the continued growth and stability of the Indiana Bond Bank and its mission of helping communities access low-interest financing opportunities in a simple and efficient manner,” Berry said.

Throughout his tenure, Mangus has been a trusted resource for Indiana’s cities, towns, schools, libraries, and other local entities. His work has helped bring critical infrastructure, equipment, and capital improvement projects to life while maintaining a commitment to fiscal responsibility.

Outside of the office, Mangus is a devoted family man. He and his wife Heidi are residents of Westfield and longtime residents of Hamilton County. They enjoy spending time with their children Josh (Sarah), Hannah (Kevin), and Rachel, and their grandchildren Jack, Alaina, Ben, and Abby. A proud Boilermaker, he is a lifelong fan of Purdue University, and you’ll often find him and his family cheering on the Boilermakers at Mackey Arena or Ross-Ade Stadium.

The Indiana Bond Bank extends its deepest gratitude to Ron Mangus for his exceptional service, unwavering dedication, and leadership over the past 30 years.
