On Friday, May 9, Sheridan Elementary School held its annual carnival, bringing together friends, family, students, and school staff into an environment that made for a fun night.

Over 800 people attended the carnival, as it becomes bigger and better each year. For a bonus, Michelle Ells added the Scholastic Book Fair Family Night to the carnival for the first time. This added event went over well and added to the already very successful evening. The added night for the Book Fair gave students and parents one less thing to worry about this week.

Other events and booths at the carnival included a silent auction with family items such as tickets to events, athletic family passes, special activities with staff members, as well as a bid for principal and assistant principal for a day. Food trucks and a DJ from radio station 105 were also present. The DJ even jumped into the dunk tank. There were games galore, including an awesome cake walk, ring toss, and so much more. The carnival even included giant inflatables, cotton candy, and a science themed presentation.

It was a beautiful and fun night. It was well attended and free to all students thanks to the Sheridan Elementary PTO sponsorship. SES Principal Valerie Roberts extends a special thank you to the SES PTO and the many volunteers who made the night so special and one of the best yet. Sheridan is counting down the days until next year’s carnival.
