Noblesville’s boys ran their winning streak to nine on Thursday by holding off Mount Vernon 50-46 at The Mill.
The Marauders led 17-14 after one quarter and 30-26 at halftime. Adam Fine kept the Millers close by making three 3-pointers in the first half; he also hit two free throws in the second quarter for a total of 11 first-half points.
Noblesville clamped down on defense in the second half. The Millers outscored Mount Vernon 18-9 in the third period for a 44-39 lead; Justin Curry made two 3s on his way to eight points in the third, while Fine also drained two more 3s. The fourth quarter was all defense, but Noblesville held on for the win. Curry made a triple for the Millers in that period.
Fine and Curry both finished with 19 points. Fine made five 3s for the game, while Curry drained four triples. Curry and Aiden Brewer led the rebounding with five each.
Noblesville is 14-4 and hosts Anderson Tuesday.
