March 10, 1962 – January 31, 2025
Jeffrey Junior Dotson, 62, Arcadia, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Indiana University Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. A man of many talents and passions, Jeff left a lasting mark on everyone he met, from his hardworking years as a business owner to the joy he brought to every family gathering.
Born on March 10, 1962, in Noblesville to the Ronald and Joyce (Dwiggins) Dotson, Jeff was always a go-getter. He began his career as a pressman in printing before following his entrepreneurial spirit and founding JD’s Landscaping and Excavating, where he worked tirelessly for 30 years. His dedication to his craft made him a trusted name in the community, and his work ethic was admired by all who knew him. In every season of life, Jeff worked hard to provide for his family, and they were the center of his world.
On October 16, 1982, Jeff married the love of his life, Elizabeth Ann (Browning) Dotson. Together, they shared 43 beautiful years of marriage, filled with love, adventure, and countless memories. His devotion to Elizabeth was unwavering, and their partnership was a true testament to the power of love and commitment.
Jeff was a man who found peace in the simple joys of life. He loved to be outdoors – whether fishing, riding his motorcycle, or camping and hiking with his family. His heart was always full when he was surrounded by nature, and he truly embraced the life of an outdoorsman. His love for horses also ran deep, and he cherished his time spent with these majestic creatures.
Dancing was another one of Jeff’s favorite pastimes – he was always the first to hit the dance floor, ready to have fun and spread joy. No family event or gathering was complete without Jeff’s contagious laughter and energy. He was a great family man, always putting his loved ones first and enjoying every moment with them. Whether it was spending time with his sons, Justin and Evan, or having fun with his “boys” and their friends, Jeff knew how to live life to the fullest.
Known for his kindness and generosity, Jeff would give you the shirt off his back – literally. He was always there for anyone in need, whether it meant offering a place to stay in his camper or lending a hand when times were tough. He never hesitated to help, and his selflessness made him a true friend to all who knew him.
Jeffrey is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Ann Dotson; his father, Ronald G. Dotson; his mother, Joyce L. Caudill; his sons, Justin J. Dotson and Evan T. Dotson; his brother, Richard G. Dotson; his sister, Melissa K. (Chip) Green; his brother, Ronald G. Faucett; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends who will miss him dearly.
