Jeffrey Kenneth Toutant

March 18, 1955 – January 17, 2025

Jeffrey Kenneth Toutant, 69, Westfield, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025. He was born on March 18, 1955, in Dearborn, Mich., to Kenneth J. and Frances G. (Blieler) Toutant.

Following his 1973 graduation from Saint Francis High School in Traverse City, Mich., he continued his education at Farris State University in Big Rapids, Mich., where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Health Systems Management in 1983. He joined the U.S. Navy as an Air Traffic Control Specialist, serving from 1973 to 1978. During his service time in the U.S. Navy, Jeff was awarded the First Good Conduct Award and the National Defense Service Medal Award.

On July 13, 1974, Jeff married Grace Ann Garno, his high school sweetheart. In 2016, Jeff began employment with the Department of Defense as a Retirement Technician GS6 and was actively working until his passing.

Jeff enjoyed spending time with his family and friends discussing politics and world news. He looked forward to camping trips. He was a sports enthusiast, especially watching golf, football, basketball, and car racing. He was a diehard Lions and Colts fan. He found the beauty in working with wood as he refinished furniture throughout his life. He loved God and was passionate about our country.

In addition to his parents, Jeffrey was preceded in death by his sister, Judith Rivard; and his brother-in-law, La Sal Rivard.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Grace Ann (Garno) Toutant; daughter, Denise (Gerald John) Hopkins; grandsons, Clarence Jeffrey “CJ” (Jordan) Jenkins, and Zachary Adam Hopkins; great-grandchildren, Carter Michael Jenkins, Jentezen Clarence Jenkins, and Westlynn Noel Jenkins; sister, Joan (John) Miller; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Radiant Christian Life Church, 16162 Carey Road, Westfield, where the Funeral Service will begin at 3:30 p.m.

In memory of Jeffrey, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Envelopes will be available at the service.
