Westfield leads early, beating Hamilton Heights

Westfield won an all-county girls basketball game at Hamilton Heights last Saturday, 53-14.

The Shamrocks led the Huskies 27-0 after one quarter, then took a 41-2 lead into halftime. Ten different players scored for Westfield; Ellen Wheeler led with 10 points. Sam Price added seven points and MaKayla Hatcher scored six and collected six rebounds. Price pulled five rebounds and Aubrey Crockett dished out four assists.

Presley Cherry led Heights with eight points. Katie Brown pulled six rebounds.

Westfield is 14-6 and plays at Hamilton Southeastern Friday in a girls-boys Hoosier Crossroads Conference doubleheader. The Huskies are 4-13 and play two Hoosier Conference East division games this week on the road. Heights travels to Western on Tuesday, then plays at Tipton Saturday afternoon.
