Join the Carmel Symphony Orchestra (CSO) Brass Quintet as they help kick off the Carmel Christkindlmarkt on Saturday, Nov. 23. As part of the opening day entertainment, the Brass Quintet will take the stage at 4 p.m. at the Winter Pavilion at Carter Green.
The CSO is ready to be a part of the No. 1-rated Christkindlmarkt in the country. This quintet features orchestra members Ben Hunter (trumpet), Shawn Jones (trumpet), Zach Cooper (horn), Chris Van Hof (trombone), and Glen Dimick (tuba). They will fill the market with the sounds of traditional carols and holiday favorites.
This performance kicks off a season of holiday festivities with the CSO. On Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, the orchestra will accompany the Indiana Ballet Conservatory’s performances of The Nutcracker. Then, on Dec. 15, the CSO presents A Holiday Pops Matinee and an evening show titled A Holiday in Vienna. The 2 p.m. family pops matinee provides a great opportunity for young people to experience the orchestra, with a shorter program, a visit from Sankt Nikolaus, and cookies and crafts after the show. Caroling and sing-alongs will enhance this memorable holiday experience. Then, at 7 p.m. the CSO will perform a similar program transporting the audience to winter in old Vienna.
Please note: New traffic patterns and temporary road closures are in effect for the duration of the Christkindlmarkt, so please see the map and plan ahead to determine your best options for parking in the area.
