Hamilton County and the City of Noblesville came together last Friday morning at the 4-H Fairgrounds in Noblesville to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, and to honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost in New York City, at the Pentagon, and in Somerset County, Pa., that day.
The joint 9/11 Memorial Ceremony at the Hamilton County 4-H Fairgrounds included a presentation of colors by a Joint Honor Guard, the Pledge of Allegiance, a moment of silence, remarks from local leaders, a benediction, and the playing of “Taps.”
Speakers included Hamilton County Commissioner Christine Altman, Noblesville Mayor Chris Jensen, Hamilton County Councilor and Carmel firefighter Tim Griffin, and Noblesville Police Chief Brad Arnold. Noblesville Deputy Mayor Matt Light led the Pledge of Allegiance and moment of silence, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Chaplain Daniel Hester delivered the benediction, and Stephen Foster performed “God Bless America” and “Taps.”
