Each year on Veterans Day, Community First Bank of Indiana (CFB) closes its doors to customers, but its bankers are still hard at work.
It’s an annual tradition for the bank to serve local veterans by completing outdoor service projects and serving a hot meal. This year, the team raked leaves, washed windows, and cleaned gutters at the homes of 28 veterans. They also served a steamed bagel sandwich “thank-you lunch” in partnership with the locally owned Bearded Bagel at Carmel VFW Post 10003, in addition to completing a painting project for the VFW. This lunch was provided by the Community First Bank Casual for a Cause employee-funded program.
“Our team cherishes the chance to engage with our community on Veterans Day and give back to our local heroes,” CFB Director of Marketing Lainey Schroer said. “Veterans embody the essence of selfless sacrifice. Thank you to all our veterans for your service. You are immensely appreciated.”
Any veteran who would like an outdoor service project, or another random act of kindness, completed at their home or business next year is welcome to contact the bank at communication@cfbindiana.com.
