Michael Joseph Quinn

Michael Joseph Quinn, 85, Fishers, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024, at his home. He was born on February 9, 1939, to Charles and Agnes (Donahue) Quinn in Indianapolis.

Michael proudly served in the United States Army. He attended the University of Indianapolis. Michael has been a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, and was interested in Indiana and American Civil War History. He authored two books, was a Master Gardner, and enjoyed writing, nature, travel, photography, bowling, golfing, and history. Michael was a member of Indiana Landmarks Foundation, National Trust for Historic Preservation, Indianapolis Museum of Art, Indiana Society of Association Executives, Brown County (Nashville) Friends of the Library, American Legion, Sunrise Men’s Senior Golf League, Hamilton County Artists Association, and the Indiana Historical Society. He was a police reporter and photographer for The Indianapolis Star, he was the Executive for the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee under Richard Lugar, the President’s Advisory Council on Drug Abuse Prevention Special Action Office under President Richard Nixon, Community Addiction Services Agency, was the Executive Director for Indiana Association of Cities and Towns, and Clifton Gunderson, LLP. Most of all, he was a proud husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Judy Quinn; children, Anne (David) Bartholomew, Chris Quinn, and Michael (Tony Fay) Quinn; grandchildren, Eleanor (Nathan) Phillippe, Maddie (Zach) Hetzler, Abbi (Jeff Gorgol) Bartholomew, Audrey (Cole) Quinn Phillips, Charlie Quinn, Mary (Hein Htet) MacArthur, and Margaret Quinn; great-grandchildren, Aaron Michael Phillippe, Frances Phillippe, Hallie Hetzler, and Josie Gorgol.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sister Mary Quinn.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, Fishers. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church, 11441 Hague Road, Fishers. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
